The Future of Smartphones, what’s next in mobile technology?

Have you ever wondered how we’ve come a long way in the world of technology? The first basic phone was invented in the year 1849. Later Graham Bell invented the telephone in the year 1876 which served as a pioneer for modern phones as a means of communication.

Smartphone technology has accelerated at a rapid pace. About 20 years ago, no one would have imagined how smartphones could evolve. Even if you compare the earliest smartphones with the latest additions, you will find a ton of differences. It will make you realize how fast-paced this world of technology and smartphones is.

Another point to ponder is the fact that earlier there were numerous other gadgets for different purposes. For example, for taking good professional photos, one had to invest in a good camera. Similarly, there were gadgets for checking the weather, and time and sending e-mails. And now, in today’s world, all of this is locked in a smartphone and can be accessed with just one click away!

Wow, bless the technology!

We are already seeing new techs in numerous fields. The latest design trends of smartphones, 5G connectivity, wireless charging options, and many other things, all are examples that prove that technology is evolving at a rapid pace every day giving us something new that no one would have thought to be existing.

Let’s put some insight into how technology has evolved and what we can expect in the next 10 years.

1. New Design Trend.

Earlier phones used to be small and bulky. They were also slightly heavy compared to what we have today. Take, for instance, the Nokia 3310 from the early 2000s. Gradually, these devices evolved to become thin, sleek, and had beautiful finishings. Nowadays you’ll find some of the most premium designs in the market that are breathtakingly appealing. From a wide variety of color ranges to matte or glossy finishes, you’ll find numerous new design trends in the market.

A few years ago, we were thinking of foldable technology, and voila! There you have it. OPPO phones just released the new OPPO Find N2 Flip. It is a beautifully sleek, foldable phone that fits perfectly in your hand. Samsung has also come up with a flip phone. This foldable phone technology has yet to develop and figure out some things. The price tag with which they come off in the market is not yet within many people’s reach.

Questions have also been raised regarding their durability. Foldable phones require more delicate screens and hinges due to their foldable nature. Certainly, we will see development in this area regarding the concerns as well as a new technology being incorporated into these foldable phones. Trust the technology!

2. 5G Technology.

5G technology is the latest wireless technology that delivers higher multi-Gbps peak data speeds, more reliability, increased availability, more uniform user experience, ultra-low latency, and massive network capacity. This is the modern technology that is being incorporated in the latest models of smartphones. You will find this technology in the latest OPPO Find X, Reno series, and it is very impressive that these premium phones provide the best experience.

So, what is next?

Yes, you guessed it right. The 6G technology. The sixth-generation technology is yet developing, and it is said that it will provide 50 times faster download speeds. From your understanding, it means that you can download movies in just seconds. Amazing, right? For the 6G technology new antennas and infrastructure would need to be built as the spectrum will expand to 3,000 GHz. This will be a matter of just a few more or maybe fewer years!

3. Wireless Charging. Say Goodbye to Wired Chargers!

Who would have thought that one day you would be charging your smartphone over the air? Nowadays many companies are launching wireless chargers. One such example is OPPO. The 50W AIRVOOC Charger is the latest in this regard. It is a wireless fast-charging device. One of the most recent additions is 65W SuperVOOC Flash Charging on OPPO Find X2, which once again broke the record of the highest combined power and speed in mobile phone charging.

It was a few years ago that no one thought that radio waves could be used to transmit energy and charge a device. This technology will surely advance more with time as well!

4. Artificial Intelligence will become Smarter!

We already see virtual assistants in our phones as one of the greatest examples of smart artificial intelligence. Take google assistant, for instance, it has now taken over many functions in our phones. AI is taking center stage in smartphones, and it goes far beyond applications like digital assistants. The latest examples of Artificial intelligence are how phones provide features from face ID to augmented reality.

Presently, some applications work with all sensor types to gain a comprehensive user understanding with the help of their smartphones. On a larger scale, artificial intelligence can serve banking, retail, and other industries and can help provide better contextual offers to users.

In the next 10 years, artificial intelligence will be more powerful and play an even bigger role in our lives. Currently, we have voice assistants, augmented reality, photography, real-time language translators, virtual assistants, privacy protection, Face ID recognition, and much more where artificial intelligence is playing its role. Future devices will be better equipped and even smarter than this.

Who knows a time will come when artificial intelligence would make human-like decisions!

Just imagine, a device is connected to your brain, and makes decisions for you based on your preference like reading kids’ bedtime stories, organizing your purchases, managing your schedules, and much more.

5. Advanced Cameras.

Are mobile phone cameras going to replace DSLRs in the future? Well, the time is here. Nowadays, the latest smartphones are equipped with the features of a DSLR. You can take professional pictures without the need for a separate professional camera. Some OPPO phones, specifically the Reno series, have the best camera specs with optical zoom of up to 20X! These cameras produce a very professional-looking picture. Less than 5 years ago, nobody would have thought that mobile phone cameras would advance this far. In the future, we might see 16K ultra-slow-motion recording, or infrared photo or video capabilities. One thing is for sure, technology will achieve this as well in no time because of how fast it is progressing.

Bottom Line.

From the iconic Nokia 3310 of the early 2000s to the latest Galaxy S22 Ultra of 2022, smartphone technology has come a long way. It would not be wrong to say that smartphones have become an extension of ourselves. They constitute a major and important part of our lives in today’s time. When you realize how far it has come, you notice that everything has changed. Earlier there were not many brands, mobile phone models, and designs. But now there are so many models based on different and varying features that sometimes it becomes hard to decide which one is best suited for you. Now you will see smartphones with top-class features of unique designs, 5G connectivity, artificial intelligence, and whatnot!

Who knows a time might come when they take over us.
